Phenomenology Of The Holographic Soft-Wall Model Of QCD With "Reversed" Dilaton

We study the phenomenology of the recently proposed modified version of the Soft-Wall model of holographic QCD with a negative dilaton profile. We investigate vector and scalar mesons, evaluating mass spectra, decay constants and two-point correlation functions. We then study chiral symmetry breaking and compute the coupling of a scalar meson with two pseudoscalars. Finally, we compare the results with the ones found in the literature in the positive-dilaton case.Comment: Latex, 4 pages, talk given at "QCD@Work 2010 - International Workshop on QCD - Theory and Experiment", June 20-23 2010, Martina Franca, Ital

    Holographic scalar mesons

    Get PDF
A holographic description of scalar mesons is presented, in which two- and three-point functions are holographically reconstructed. Mass spectrum, decay constants, eigenfunctions and the coupling of the scalar states with two pseu- doscalars are found. A comparison of the results with current phenomenology is discussed.Comment: 4 pages, talk given at IFAE 2009 (Incontri di Fisica delle Alte Energie 2009), Bari, Italy, 15-17 Apr 200

On the Son-Yamamoto relation in the soft-wall holographic model of QCD

We study the vertex function of two vector and one axial-vector operators in the soft-wall holographic model of QCD. In particular, we discuss the possible relation, introduced by Son and Yamamoto, between the structure function wTw_T describing such a vertex when one of the two vector currents represents an on-shell soft photon and the the two-point Π⊥VV−Π⊥AA\Pi_\perp^{VV}-\Pi_\perp^{AA} correlation function.Comment: contribution to conference QCD@Work - International Workshop on QCD - Theory and Experiment, 18-21 June 2012, Lecce - Ital

Complex networks and public funding: the case of the 2007-2013 Italian program

    Get PDF
In this paper we apply techniques of complex network analysis to data sources representing public funding programs and discuss the importance of the considered indicators for program evaluation. Starting from the Open Data repository of the 2007-2013 Italian Program Programma Operativo Nazionale 'Ricerca e Competitivit\`a' (PON R&C), we build a set of data models and perform network analysis over them. We discuss the obtained experimental results outlining interesting new perspectives that emerge from the application of the proposed methods to the socio-economical evaluation of funded programs.Comment: 22 pages, 9 figure

Holography, Heavy-Quark Free Energy, and the QCD Phase Diagram

We use gauge/string duality to investigate the free energy of two static color sources (a heavy quark-antiquark pair) in a Yang-Mills theory in strongly interacting matter, varying temperature and chemical potential. The dual space geometry is Anti-de Sitter with a charged black-hole to describe finite temperature and density in the boundary theory, and we also include a background dilaton field to generate confinement. The resulting phase diagram in the chemical potential-temperature μ−T\mu-T plane is in a quite good agreement with lattice results and effective models of QCD.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figures, version published on PR

Temperature and quark density effects on the chiral condensate: an AdS/QCD study

We investigate the dependence of the chiral condensate on the temperature and quark density using the soft-wall holographic model of QCD, adopting geometries with black holes at finite temperature and quark chemical potential μ\mu. We find that, for μ\mu below a critical value, increasing the temperature the condensate decreases and vanishes at a temperature T~≃210\tilde T\simeq 210 MeV (at μ=0\mu=0). An analogous behaviour is observed increasing the chemical potential at fixed temperature. These results agree with the findings obtained by other methods. We also comment on the robustness of the results if geometries not involving black holes are adopted at low temperature, and an Hawking-Page transition is implemented.Comment: 13 pages, 3 figures, published on EPJ
